Q: QuestionCan i get a DVD with more than 120 minutes?

- A:Answer I don't know why everyone wants to make this answer hard, like they're a member of some secret geek tech club. Think of it like changing record speeds on an old vcr. My recorder will let me record up to 6 hrs of video on a standard DVD-R. And just like Video tape the more you record on the disc the more you lose in video quality . However , I notice it very little on most things I record . Some things are worse , not terrible to me , but it's a personal preference and eye of the beholder thing . Dual layer DVD + R's will let you record longer than that . However , your machine mist be compatible with them . You simply use your record speed with your remote like you did with a vcr. All reorders are different and have different modes. Think Beta 1, 2 and 3 vcr's. I prefer making longer recordings with different programming line ups, etc. So I don't have to get up every hour or so and change the discs . Some people have to have the best quality possible, but for my purposes and tastes I don't . But talking about compression and telling people the they to buy a blue ray burner isn't very helpful or true in most cases
