You can use this device with any wireless enabled device up to 8 connections. This is a verizon modem and I use it via a prepaid type service when I need it. Simply select how much bandwidth data I want, and then use it anywhere to be my internet connection.

Please try again later.Not sure why you would want to connect to a different network, but the only way would be to connect it using the version hot spot the same as you would if you connected your phone to a home wireless network. Look for the wireless device and input the password for that device on your phone. Should work fine for internet browsing or facebook posting.
