NOTE: I bought my first one over three years ago. That I am aware of, there IS an activation fee for the first one you activate. Activation process when bought from Best Buy is a little different than buying direct from Verizon Vehicle. Just follow the instructions that came with it. Normally you have to agree to a 2-year contract when you activate the unit. If you cancel before that 2 years is up you have to pay a penalty. You also have to return the OBD II unit. They told me they didn't care about the speaker unit but I did have to return the OBD II unit. Make sure, if you do this, that you get a receipt showing the numbers particular to that unit. NOTE: If the OBD II unit is past the 2-year contract and goes bad (such as I had recently) you do NOT have to return the unit or pay a penalty. You may get a form letter verifying disconnect/cancellation that says you WILL be charged, but you won't (again, personal experience very recently). But you do have to call them and have it deleted from your account. I have to admit, too, that their customer service is like no other I've experienced in the last few years. I actually received two phone calls regarding my phone call to cancel/disconnect a dead/no longer working unit and my response to a survey regarding that phone call. I THEN received a follow-up phone call regarding THAT phone call, making sure that everything was okay. I was VERY impressed. Especially when the lady told me she had listened to the recordings of those service calls and she apologized, saying that additional training would be given the employee. Oh, and yes, when I called in about the first thing they said was that the call was being recorded. Hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
