A:Answer After purchasing an 8800L (not from Verizon) a very helpful Verizon rep took me through the process of moving my 8800L to the phone number that was associated with a hotspot I was replacing. The process wasn't obvious on the website, but essentially involves the general procedure for transferring a phone number to a new device. Since this was a device replacement keeping the same phone number, I was told there would not be any activation fee.
