Yes. Be sure to report your phone as lost/stolen to your provider. They will cancel the number on the previous phone and transfer it to your new phone. Also, you can usually do a "wipe" of your old phone, completely deleting all of your private info by signing into your Google account on your new phone and deleting access to your info on the old one by de-selecting the old unit. Do not go to your neighbor hood Verizon Store as they will tell you that they can not do that. I know that they can and will over the internet or phone.
