• No. This does record in real time. So, the video does have to play at regular speed. So, you just need to be able to stop and start the video you are recording. So, as long a there are controls on your machine, you should not need the remote control. (You can edit the digitally captured video later.)

• No all you need do is hit play on device and record on program to record once they are hooked up together.
