The Recording Volume in Step 5 must be left at the appropriate recording level the whole time. Unfortunately, there is not currently a way to mute the VIDBOX app in the program itself without also affecting the audio recording level. If using the Windows software, you can use the Volume Mixer to manually mute the output of the VIDBOX app so that you can listen to something else on the computer at the same time. However, there is no built-in tool for the Mac that we are aware of will let you selectively mute a single app's playback volume.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Still confused by pj123 answer. If I go into my sound settings on my computer, the VCR I'm using to send the VHS tape to my computer, doesn't show up in the sound settings. If I turn the sound off there, it doesn't have sound on my computer recording in the file I recorded too. Also, I don't have sound on anything. If I bring down the slider on the Vidbox, there is no sound on the recording. How can I record the sound from the VCR to my computer and still be able to hear the News and other stories from the internet on my computer. Seems like if I turn the sound any place, I lose it on the recording and the computer. Can I really do what I want or will I just have to stay off the computer while I'm recording the VHS to my computer?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should be able to go into your computer audio settings and mute the output, and that should not affect the vidbox recording of the audio.
