Yes, it is designed to work on the stovetop as well as in the oven. It works fine with gas. Just remember that both the body and lid (stove and oven safe) are 3-ply construction so they feature very efficient heat transfer. Just use low to medium heat and allow the pan to heat up. When done cooking, allow the pan to cool naturally. Never shock it by running it or submersing it under cold water.
