A:AnswerThis unit is awesome! I know if you go into a best buy store an associate can add all the needed stuff to make it compatible with your car. I had to buy the wire harness the upgraded fob cause I wanted it to start from a greater distance. The sales associate was knowledgeable about what was needed. Then they set me up an appointment for install. All together it was about $600 for my vehicle.

A:AnswerWe had that problem with one of ours, had to get ahold of Viper on Viper.com and get a new one under warranty, after all it is a lifetime warranty.
A:AnswerIf you already have the remote start system installed in your vehicle, you can install the remote yourself with the instructions that come with it. It took me about 3 tries, but I wasn't giving it my full attention the first time I read the directions.

A:AnswerThe one that comes with it will unlock it, but it will not tell you if your car started when you hit the button. The one-way that came with mine died in just under 3 years. This 2-way has better range and will tell you your car started and is running, will lock and unlock, and can open your trunk. It has great range, and is rechargeable. I love mine. I think it was worth the money.

The viper is a very good unit,
But,if you buy the other starter Fob,the one with more range...be very careful with it,they are fragile I dropped mine a few times while it was on my ketchain,Keychain, it broke and I had to pay $100 for another one.
I've had my viper for about five years now and it still works fine...I would say its a very good unit.
