Prevents a remote starter from turning the engine on when the hood is open and your hands maybe somewhere where you wouldn't want the engine to be running. A safety feature.

If you are parked on any kind of hill.....If you have a sloped driveway....If your front end is higher than the rear AT ALL..... then you cannot remote start your vehicle. I am having mine REMOVED! Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is a "Tilt" switch. It activates by gravity moving a ball bearing back and forth between contacts, when the angle of the switch is changed. The switch is useful in applications such as turning lights on and off on inside of car hoods or trunk lids with a wide angle between open and closed positions. The switch requires a significant change in angle to activate, in order to maintain a constant On or Off position. It is not used to detect shock or vibration movements.
