“The led from the receiver keeps flashing on the vehicle, about once a second, a blue led. Is it supposed to be that way? Im worried it will kill my battery. Thanks”

The blue LED flashes when the vehicle is armed/locked. No it will not kill your battery, the draw is way too small.
