It is plug and play but you can not activate it unless you are an authorized dealer. I installed mine thinking I could. Called Vioer and they said it had to be activated by an authorized dealer. So I had to go back to Best Buy and pay for them to activate the product for me. It should be a disclosure on the product that say activation required by an authorized dealer no consumer/customer activation available.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same concept. It is plug and play. I don’t understand why Viper needs a $$$Middle$$$man$$$ the option to add a connected device, with the Air ID is in the smart start app. I’m pretty sure the techs would rather do other tech stuff besides wasting their time with viper. Never mind. $199 for just a few clicks, is worth it? They do need to make a disclaimer about the need to have an authorized dealer installed it before having an option to “checkout” and pay for the device. And the most confusing thing is, they actually do send this device to ur home.
