• A:Answer No, this is a module that lets you control your Viper alarm or remote starter with an app on your phone. The part you're looking for is 516U, universal voice module. That's an add-on too, so you'd still need the actual alarm system.

• A:Answer You only need a subscription if you want to be able to remote start from your phone using the gps module. You can pay by one ,two, or three years and it renews automatically on your credit card. Its about 112 bucks a year or so. If your car does get stolen, you can use your phone and track it. Its work the yearly fee.

Q: QuestionI'm having the DS4VB installed today. I plan to get this add on later. Is it plug and play into the existing remote start module, or does this require extra wiring when added to the DS4?

• A:Answer It is plug and play but you can not activate it unless you are an authorized dealer. I installed mine thinking I could. Called Vioer and they said it had to be activated by an authorized dealer. So I had to go back to Best Buy and pay for them to activate the product for me. It should be a disclosure on the product that say activation required by an authorized dealer no consumer/customer activation available.

• A:Answer Short answer is no. This is an add-on module for a Viper remote start. The Viper DS4 that it is compatible with does not support manual vehicles.
