not sure if the specs are better than unlocked model? I do know the unlocked device does have dual sim capacity. the nice thing about dual sim card is, it does not restrict you to any wireless service you want, either postpaid or prepaid. if you travel to other countries?, then you can travel with this device, and pay for a sim card, just pay what the locals pay. keep in mind the 5.5 screen makes for easy self or group selfies pics.

Even if you have a Metro PC sim card for the GSM network it will not work with the Virgin Mobile variant of this phone, which was made for a CDMA network.
