“If I buy a Vizio TV, when connected to this soundbar system, will the soundbar turnon/off when I power on/off the Vizio TV. Long story short, any advantage to buying both a Vizio TV and Vizio Soundbar, or does the soundbar brand not matter? Thx!”

My experience has been that with both a Vizio TV and a Vizio soundbar they will turn on together with just the TV remote, but need to be turned off separately. However, both devices turn off automatically after some amount of standby time. I should note that this is only true for my newer Vizio TV/soundbar. I have a new soundbar with an older TV in another room and everything must be turned on separately. Auto-shutoff also seems to not include the TV likely due to how old it is.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This sound bar does have a VIZIO TV Remote Control feature. When you turn your TV off the Sound bar will go to sleep and will wake when you press the volume up button.
