I read several wrong answers about this sound bar in reviews. To answer your question yes you can use your tv remote. Thats one of the purposes for me keeping my sound bar instead of hooking it to my home stereo system is the convenience of not needing an extra remote. And my TV is not even a vizio, I have a TCL 55". It also controls the sound bar through my cable box remote with xfinity
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As long as the tv remote is programmable (universal remote, directv, tivo, etc) you can program it to control the sound bar. My tivo remote can adjust volume and mute the soundbar.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The setup for my Dish remote recognizes the soundbar and allows me to control the volume with the cable remote. I also have the option of allowing my learning universal remote to control the soundbar. I press one button on the universal remote to power everything off and on (soundbar, TV, and cable), then I use the cable remote to actually watch TV. As to your Samsung remote, it depends on if it a dedicated remote or can it control any other devices?

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sales person told me that I could only use the sound bar remote to adjust sound volume. Also, set volume on your TV to 1. I have found that after turning off TV, sound bar will automatically turn off after awhile. However, you need to use sound bar remote to power it on next time you turn the TV on. All this said, sound bar quality is much better than the TV.
