Most colleges use a Wi-Fi system that you have to login with your student ID/credentials. If that's the case, you won't be able to use the Wi-Fi on this TV. However, you should be able to use an Ethernet cable. If your college gives you an IP address that you have to use for the ethernet connection, you can enter it in the settings. If it's just plug and play, like you have at home, you'll only have to plug in the cable, the TV will do the rest.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don't need control of the router, only the password to connect. It's the same password that your computer / phone / whatever used.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes tv works great in dorms as long as the dorm have cable hookups.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, but we use a router we bought with the internet at RV Parks and it works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Trying to understand "student doesn't have control of a router." Wireless connection - If the network is password protected, the student will need to know the WiFi password for that network. That would not require "control of the router," but would require someone that is in control of that router to give the student the password information. Ethernet - Student could plug an ethernet cable from TV directly into the router. Would not require 'control of the router' or password since it would be direct wired, not wireless connection. Good Luck in college :-)
