Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you must turn it on via remote or with buttons on the panel
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If using it as a computer monitor, it should turn on and off when the computer power switch is turned on or off..... if plugged into the computer VGA/DVI port on the back of the TV. You may have to set it up on the Vizio remote to the computer output connector setting, to sync it up with the computer. Just plugging in a HDMI cable does not turn anything on or off unless power is applied at one end or the other of the chain, either by remote on, or by manual turning on. HDMI cables by themselves simply transfer video and audio data. If you are running HDMI from your computer to the Vizio, then you will have to set it up in the remote control that way so that the Vizio HDMI port will accept the information from the computer via the HDMI input vs using the dedicated computer input on the back of the Vizio. The Vizio does have a normal dedicated computer video and audio input connection. Anytime you start trying to hook up computers via optical, or Hdmi, or through digital cable, consult the owners manual to avoid problems.
