Can't answer specifically but I just got a new Samsung Galaxy S-5 cellphone that came pre-loaded with an app called "Peel Smart Remote." I had no idea how to use it but gave it a try. It's a simple three or four step setup process. It works with my cable service provider (Cox) and I have it set up for an old Samsung DLP (non-smart) TV and a newer LG Smart TV. The set up process offers hundreds of service providers and TV brands to choose from. After setup, touch the Peel icon on the cellphone screen and the phone shows an image of a purpose-built remote control device. It gives pretty much all the functionality of the cable service remote and the TV remote from my cell phone. Give it a try.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should be able to. Vizio's and LG's codes are included in nearly every current cable box remote. I have not operated this set with a Verizon remote but have done so with ATT Uverse and with Cox Digital Cable. Both easily programmed when following the cable company's instructions.

Barring that, just get a Universal Remote (RCA #RCRN03BR or #RCRN04GR, $10 on sale at Best Buy right now) and program it for your TV, Blu-Ray and cable box. You'll be happier with just one remote anyhow. LOL
