“We have a Samsung that has an auto screen dimmer. We hate this function because it makes the screen too dark and very difficult to see. Can this feature be turned off or adjusted on the Vizio?”

I have the D24-D1 and yes you can. You go into the MENU, select PICTURE, and there is a specific setting to turn the AUTO-BRIGHTNESS ON/OFF. This works great fro me as I am using mine as a second monitor on my computer and sometimes I watch a Netflix movie on it since it is Roku-ready. Hope this helps!!

From the owners manual: "Auto Brightness Control - The auto brightness control detects the light levels in the room and automatically adjusts the backlight for the best picture.
