• Hello, I just bought this TV and set it up the other day. Yes, I agree, I would prefer a single base myself. I would say unless you're will to do some do-it-yourself changes, like putting a piece,of plywood under the legs, that We are stuck with the way this came. Good Luck. P.S., Love the set, it's Great!!!

• You can purchase an alternative base for this product on Amazon. It utilizes the holes on the back meant for wall mounting so the legs are closer together on a smaller tv stand.
