I have no problem casting to it with an iPhone. The Samsung s8 should work the same way. As long as you are connected to your home Wifi with the TV and the phone it should find it easily. You need to make sure you are using an App that supports casting as well. So far I have used Youtube, ESPN, and a variety of TV apps have worked without issue.
