“Why does my sounder make buzzing or static noises? Whenever I watch Terminator Salvation on Blu-ray, the soundbar makes buzzing or static noises, especially when there are scenes with explosions and shootings. Is it the quality of the optical cable what is causing this , is it because this sounder doesn't come with a subwoofer, or could it be something else?”

The bass is to high, and the soundbar can't handle it. I would get the auxiliary subwoofer to lessen the bass load.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The buzzing is caused by the bass hitting certain frequencies that makes the chassi vibrate. In short, it can't handle certain bass well at all. This isn't really a product for heavy sound like movies and games but more of a substitute for the generally bad TV speakers. Static however can be caused by a variety of tings.
