“If TV passes through 2-channel audio, will I be losing the third channel of the 3.0 if I hook up through the optical cable? Should I get 2.0 bar?? I don't want to get separate speakers, but do want improved audio on dialogue”

• I have an older Panasonic TH-42PZ77U plasma TV. I am not an expert but I believe it is similar to what you have. I hooked up through the optical cable and have great control of the center dialog channel

• no you will have sound from all 3 speakers,sounds great to me especially with a center speaker

• I can't say for certain, but I believe the center speaker would be wasted in this situation. If you can get this soundbar on sale I'd still recommend buying it for the future in case you get a different TV.
