• This is a closed system, meaning that it doesn't allow for additional speakers to be added to it.

• The previous answers are correct. However, BB does carry an Insignia rear speaker kit that will work with this soundbar. The rear speaker kit connects to the TV via optical or 3.5 mm. If you have the Vizio soundbar connected to the TV via ARC then you can use one of the other two connection methods I mentioned to connect the rear surround speakers.

• No. The 5.1 system has wired surround speakers from the subwoofer while the 3.1 does not have those hookups
