This TV does have a built in tuner to be used with an antenna to receive local over the air channels.

You can buy one designed for digital signals but I use a pair of old rabbit-ears and they work great. However, reception will vary depending on where you live. I live in a city and I get something like 70 channels. My brother lives about 40 miles away and he doesn't get anywhere near that many. The orientation of his apartment could have something to do with it, I don't know.
