• Yes, you can connect any external video and audio source, as long as you have the proper cables and or adapters.

• I hooked up a DVD via component and my vhs player via coax. To set up the vcr merely choose the antenna input on TV and do a channel search. It will find one analog channel which is actually you vcr. It works fine.
