• To answer you question: No. You can only run the TV in single session 1920 x 1080p, or 3840 x x2160p.

• I have used this monitor to watch movies on my laptop without issue since it has HDMI connections. You may need to check your graphics card, but if your laptop screen resolution is 1080p you should not have an issue. You could also call BestBuy to be sure.
