• It is 2" exactly no less or more .I have a dvd player under it .A newer small one .

• It's about an inch, maybe a bit more but less than 2. Roughly three fingers width. Enough space for a PS4 controller to fit under IF there were no analog sticks or three DVD cases. Sorry, no tape measure.
