The tv is 1080p but certain stations brocast in 480, 720 or 1080

Please try again later.not all channels transmit 1080p.i do over the air and usually main channel is 1080p but b or c channel is reduced to bandwidth of transmitter power. pbs is 480p on c, d, and e channel. cable wants you to pay more for higher bandwidth because the multiplex numerous subscribers on one feed line.

If you are seeing 480p it's most likely due to video from your DVD player or cable box. If you try connecting an HD source such as a Blu ray player or HD channels from an HD cable box you will see HD source info (720p, 1080i, 1080p)

If you're seeing a lower resolution, then the content you're watching either doesn't support 1080, or the device you're using to watch the content (such as your cable or satellite box) needs to be changed back to outputting a 1080 resolution.
