I hooked mine up via optical cable to my Sharp Aquos. It will play sound from any device that is hooked up to your other television inputs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can leave your DVD player and DVR connected to your TV. You will only need to connect the soundbar to the audio output of your TV. Use the included optical cable. Very easy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If your TV has an audio out, preferably optical or digital coax, you could hook it up from there and anything that plays on your tv would then come out on your soundbar. It does have enough inputs to handle a few inputs, but then you would ave to swith the input for whatever you are playing, so the TV out is your best option.
Sorry, there was a problem. I have a DVD setup to my tv by an HDMI cable and i do not have to do anything but change the input on the tv to have the sound come through.

Your TV might have a Digital-Optical audio output or an audio out jack that you can hook into the soundbar . It would only be one cable that you could use that would allow you to project all of your components plugged into the TV out of the soundbar. Or you would have to use the three different inputs and hook up your components separately to the soundbar itself.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I plugged mine into the tv via the digital optical cable and anything that goes through the tv comes out of the sound bar. Then I have a separate cable going to the blu-ray. Haven't messed with it enough to see if that is even necessary because I bought this for a friend. It is my understanding that HDMI doesn't carry the digital sound signal which is why I have made a digital connection from sound bar to blu-ray.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Since everything is hooked into the TV, use the TVs audio out and connect those to the sound bar input. I use a similar setup with my ps3 and xbox. They connect to the TV by HDMI, and then I use the TVs optical out to the sound bar. Also, in case you didn't know, you select which of the inputs on the sound bar you want to use. You can only have one input selected at a time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Connect sound bar to audio output of TV. You will need to go into TV settings and select external speakers under the Audio setting. This will turn off TV speakers and output sound to soundbar thru connection cable. When your TV is producing audio, it will put thru soundbar, regardless of source (DVR, DVD). Also remember to set soundbar to proper input setting (with remote). For example, if you connect it with an optical cable, the soundbar needs to be set to "optical" by the remote. Enjoy.
