QuestionIf I don't plug in the rear speakers to the subwoofer will it affect the sound? Will it still decode for 5.1? Sometimes I might not be able to plug in the rear surround speakers.

- Answer I would test with and without the speakers first. If it isn't a significant difference I'd leave it out...But if there's a huge difference, plug them in! Mine are in and I love it!

QuestionI am evaluating whether or not to buy this system and I need to understand what's said that you can put the surround speakers in front, on either side of the soundbar which it says this is ideal for smaller space, how does this work??? As good as behind?

- Answer It’s sounds ok with the all the speakers and sub woofer up front. You lose the surround sound effect though. It could be the size of my room that effects that though. My living room is big enough to do the speakers and subwoofer behind. It is much better if you can put them behind you.

QuestionMy Vizio v51h6 sound bar has never played music stored on a USB pen drive. Wav or mp3 files. I plug in the open drive into the USB port on the sound bar and then select USB as input by the remote. What else should I be doing? What am I doing wrong?

- Answer yes, 3dGuru, I did format the pen drive and then xferred files to it while it was connected to laptop. Which format are you talking about...the manual mentions nothing about how to store files in pendrive.

- Answer You will have to plug the Alexa dot into the soundbar. With aux. It comes with the aux cable!

- Answer You can either turn down the bass on the subwoofer or disconnect it. The surround speakers will still work.

- Answer Using the surround sound remote, click on the level button the scroll down to either surround sound level/balance and then you can adjust it from there. It'll equally distribute the sound. Or you can use the EQ button and switch between different modes to best fit what sound you're looking for

QuestionIf I pair this with Sony - UBP-X800M2 - Streaming 4K Ultra HD Hi-Res Audio Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-Ray Player and my TCL 4K TV, do I need a separate receiver or is this "self-powered(?)" Basically, I want to know if I'll need to purchase a separate receiver.

- Answer I have used it with Sony Bravia 4K OLED TV with no issues. I also paired it with my Roku streaming player. The sound in my case is way better streaming than with my cable box. Completely self powered.

QuestionAnyone know the wire gauge of the satellite speakers? We want to get rid of the black wires. I asked Vizio Support, and they were no help, as if it was a state secret. Not sure if the supp.person was too lazy to find out, or what. Thanks.

- Answer I found that you have to use (EFFECT) make sure Surround Sound is ON. Then to click(LEVEL) button then using the circular ring that’s around the (OK) button clicking up or down scroll through speaker settings and adjust accordingly with the volume control

QuestionThe sound cuts out on this at least once every time I turn on my TV, for at least 10 seconds. It chops up every other second. Any suggestions?

- Answer There's a few possibilities, it might be an issue with that particular input, check other devices when plugged into the same input to see if the problem can be replicated with other devices. If you can rule out the TV as the issue, then it might be the cable so swap that with one you know works. If you're connecting via bluetooth and it is still doing this then you likely need additional technical support.

- Answer Speaker cords provided with the unit are the only cords available from VIZIO. The included speaker cords with the system are 8 meters in length.

QuestionHi - Can I install the satellite (surround) speakers 6 to 10 ft above the ground instead of mounting at ear level as suggested in the manual? Will it give the same output? Thanks, PS

- Answer While the suggestion is to place the speakers at ear level for best immersion and ambiance, if mounted at height it would be recommended to direct the speakers directly toward your favorite seating position.

QuestionHow do you get the rear/satellite speakers to play R/L 2.1 if only a stereo signal is available. Only the sound bar and subwoofer have sound unless a channel with 5.1 is selected.
