“What is the usable viewing angle of the screen. My wife likes to sit near the fireplace at an angle and watch the TV. A previous cheaper Emerson LCD TV performs very well at this angle, maybe 60 - 75 degrees angle from straight on and we need something comparable. We do not want anything that will appear washed out.”

I own this model and as a bedroom TV it's amazing, however, the picture becomes very washed out when you are not dead center due to the display being VA vs an IPS. VA has the best picture for watching from the center aside from the expensive oled displays. IPS, generally used by LG and some vizio models, doesn't have the capacity to display the vibrant colors and contrast a VA display will. However, an IPS display has much much better viewing angles.

Please try again later.tell her to snuggle up with some popcorn and start forgetting the emerson...you can see this picture from the side without a problem...its so good you might even be able to see it from behind (just a joke) but seriously i can sit anyplace in the room and not have a problem with clarity or color...up...down...left...and right...you might need to get a fireplace for the otherside of the room to enjoy it the same as the Ms.s will
