Yes you can!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Visio M50-E1 50" Smartcast Display will only play video in native resolution and will not upscale 480/720/1080 video to 4K. With that being said, streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Video have available 4K content. I was able to stream Stranger Things from Netflix in 4K. If you are interested in being able to upscale SD and HD video to UHD, then you will need to purchase a peripheral that could accomplish this for you... like Roku 4K stick, streaming 4K Blu-ray player w/ upscaling ability, or home theater receiver with upconvert/upscaling feature. For instance, I purchased a Sony X800 Streaming 3D 4K Blu-ray player with HDR and 4K upscaling so i can have all SD and HD DVDs, Blu-rays, and non-4K streaming converted to UHD (high speed 4K HDMI cable required; >18 gb/s).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The TV is fully equipped to stream Netflix and other apps without a roku or Fredrick. It does come with several HDMI ports so you can connect one if you want or connect a gaming system. The picture quality is excellent and we set up our Google assistant to cast to the TV which works very well.
