• Yes you can stream right from your router you do not have to chrome cast from your phone

• using cast you can access thousands of apps (even those not availabel on other tvs) and mirror your screen from mobile or laptop. vizio is rolling out new firmware that will also give you apps on tv without the need to use cast.
