The difference between Vizio M series and V series is Quantum dot technology. Human vision sees all colors as a combination of red, green, and blue light. An LCD TV must have a backlight. An LCD element creates a picture by filtering red, green, and blue light from the white backlight. LED TVs are LCD TVs with an LED backlight. Standard backlight LEDs have a blue color. Yellow phosphors are added to blue to produce white light. Standard LED white light in the spectrum between red, green, and blue is wasted. Quantum dot technology adds red and green phosphors to the blue backlight LEDs to create white light. The backlight is white, but the spectrum is peaky to the same red, green, and blue colors as the LCD. Less light spectrum is wasted, making a brighter picture and more vivid colors.
