“Is hdr activated automatically or do I control that from the settings?”

• All is automatic. The Vizio automatically upscales incoming signals that are not HDR to HDR as well.

• If you have the proper HDMI cable(I believe 3.0) and the picture is being broadcast in UHD then yes. I believe on the Xbox One S you can change the setting to 4K.
