“Do the apps get updates on a consistent basis or are they just whatever version that's native to the TV?”

• I've just had it for a few weeks but so far it seems to update and it is connected to our wireless in the house 24/7. I seem to remember something about updates during the system setup on it as well.

• As long as your television is connected to the internet any updates to the operating system or applications will come to the television automatically.
