If your cable box is actually RF cable from the box to you existing set the answer is no. Your connection options are HDMI and RCA audio video.

The only issue you may find is that if you try to program the TV to your cable/universal remote may prove difficult. This is because the software programming of your cable/universal remote was done before the creation of the newly purchased TV. So, the coding that is needed to control the new TV does not exist in the software of the cable/universal remote. Until your cable/universal remote has a software update that will then recognize newer products, you're a little 'stuck' with using two remotes for that brief period.
