In layman's terms this is not a TV. It does not have a tuner installed. This is a home theater display unit. In short it is an extremely good display system that you can hook up a DVD or Blu-ray player to for exceptional quality playback. It is also capable of having cable, satilite, and external HDTV tuners hooked up to it for viewing. It has wifi and Chromecast installed from the factory for streaming from the internet. You can also add a Firestick with Kodi installed to really complete the system. The sound is good but adding a good audio system will enhance the viewing experience.

Home Theater Display is referring to that this display does not have a built-in tuner or coaxial port, and is not a conventional TV. It is still a display, and can accept device connections through HDMI, component, or composite. This display also runs our SmartCast™ platform, to pair with your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet for them to Cast apps to the display to view. Netflix, Hulu, HBO NOW, Pandora, Spotify, YouTube, and hundreds of other applications support the Google Cast™ platform. Thanks again and have a great day! -Collin
