What is the advantage of using HDMI ARC? null

ARC stands for audio return channel. Its used to send sound to and from the receiver.. So a sound system plugged into the tv with hdmi getting sound from a different system. Like a DVR or a game console.

An HDMI-ARC connection to a soundbar or sound system can provide higher quality audio, and will allow you to control that sound system's volume through the TV's normal remote.
