• D series has a television tuner. Some of the D series are HD (1080) but not UHD (4k). The apps (Netflix, Hulu, VUDU, etc) are built into the unit. E series lacks a TV tuner, and is UHD. Apps are available via ChromeCast from a tablet or smartphone. Prices are very similar.

• Tv with coax input verse home theater display (meaning it's not a tv tuner).

• There is no D class for 2016. E class is right on par with last years D series. The D series actually had more LED zones for better dimming.
