If you're facing the tv, on the left side there is 3 buttons. A power button is on top, the middle button is volume up/down, and the bottom button is for input selection. You can use a windows 10 computer with the smartcast app installed.

Essentially you need to buy a cheap galaxy tablet or phone(straight talk phones work for cheap often under 30$) There may be universal remotes to help as well. Vizio states clearly the smart-cast requires a device to act as the main remote. The M series comes with it's own tablet.
