I just bought a VIZIO - 65" Class - LED - P Series Quantum Series - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR and it has a very strong Ozone odor and it's hot. Smells toxic. Did you have to return your tv? I think we may if the smell doesn't subside.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just received an hdmi tv as a gift and immediately smelled same odor . Very strong and ended up turning tv off and unplugging. Gave me a headache. Tv works fine but smell is too strong for me. If I could return it I would but it was a gift mailed to me from far away. The smell reminds me of when an appliance is running too hot, and I’ve only ever smelled that odor while at work never at home. Very disappointing since now that I can watch tv I probably will chose not to because of the smell. This brand is a Spectre. I’d been thinking of buying a smart tv when this one arrived unbeknownst to me. I might not get one if it will emit the same odor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just bought a vizio 24inch fhd tv picture is great but the smell is strong. My wife is worried about it runs around if there are any cable burning. I hope that goes soon away or I have to bring it back. I actionly really like the tv. Anything works great and picture is awesome for 139 dollar it's great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just bought a Visio 24” TV from Target. Great price, great features but awful smell when I opened the box. Smells like blown capacitors or overheated electronics. I thought maybe the odor would go away so I used it for 2 days but the smell filled the entire room. I exchanged it thinking I got a bad one… nope! The next one stunk just as bad :(. I have never returned electronics because of a smell. Never had this problem with other TVs including Visio before.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine has it also it is awful
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think some odor is probably normal as new components heat up and get 'burned in' from use. It is a different story if you are smelling the odor of a failed electronic component. That smell is usualy pretty strong and most often different than the smell of new components getting 'burned in' from use. I would say if everything is working correctly and you do not see any evidence of a TV failure, keep using it and see if the smell goes away. If it is new, your warranty should protect your investment and allow you to get it replaced if needed. Good luck
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Same issue thinking of returning as the smell has not gone away in more than 2 weeks
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The black plastics Samsung uses are hardened with sulfur compounds, which result in the outgassing of mercaptans. Most manufacturers in the US add compounds like zinc carbonate to the plastics, as it reduces the odor... some side effect where it bonds with the mercaptans.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have never noticed in odor. I would suggest it's not normal
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My brand new Samsung tv STINKS! I mean, it STINKS! My entire house STINKS! Everyone in the house has a sore throat, runny nose and headache from this SMELL! I am ANGRY and DISGUSTED. Getting ready to call the Best Buy and speak with the Manager where I purchased the tv. No doubt, I will get told either it's no problem, just the break in period smell. Which is bs. Or, I will get told to bring the tv back to the store. !@#$! Why should a customer be inconvenienced like this? I should have to take my time, at the busiest time of the year, to schlep the tv back to the store, which is not around the corner, get another tv, hoping not to have the same problem AGAIN and then go through all the set up process AGAIN?! Best Buy should bring me a new tv TODAY and have their person do the set up for me. But, haha. I know that's not happening. And, do I want another Samsung tv, only to experience the same issue too many other Samsung customers have had? I AM ANGRY!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
