I couldn’t get mine to connect with my cable either. A call to my cable company brought me the advice to call the set manufacturers tech section and they had a phone number for them. The Vizio tech downloaded a software update which fixed the problem. Also, check to see that you are connected to the correct HDMI port. Push input on your remote control and cycle through all your ports until you come to the cable one. A magnifying glass can be helpful as the print on the back of the tv is very tiny. Also a flashlight.
