Thank you for a great question! I apologize, but the HDMI passthrough would not properly passthrough a 4K signal. With this, we'd recommend connecting your device to your TV directly, and connecting the soundbar either via optical, or HDMI-ARC, as it is ARC compatible. Thanks again and have a great day!

Just plug the HDMI directly into the tv and either run your audio out from the tv or out from the blu-ray if it has a separate audio port.

The increase in price on these cables is to pay for the packaging. All HDMI cables are exactly the same. If the cable works it is as good as any other cable at any other price. So, the answer to your question is yes, your current HDMI cable will carry the full signal to your tv.
