- Answer The machine only has 1 heat setting, but the fan dictates the intensity of the heat projection. It has Low speed, and High speed fan, and it doesn’t get too hot, similar to a hot summer breeze. The box itself is also very safe. The mechanism for safety, is that there are no dangerous heat spots to touch, and if it tips over or gets moved, it will automatically shut off.

QuestionCan this unit be plugged-in to an extension cord or a power strip? (I purchased a different brand of space heater that said must ONLY be plugged-in to the wall outlet- and I have no wall outlet available to reach) Thank you.

- Answer A heater really should never be connected to a power strip or surge suppressor. There have been numerous reports and articles telling of damage or failure to the power strip from overheating, too high a current draw. Regarding an extension cord, I urge you to search the topic to learn why or why not to use one, and what you need to look for if you do. Good luck.

QuestionThere's a very strong chemical-like electrical smell that comes from the heater that doesn't go away no matter how long it is on. Is this normal or should I replace it? It works well and better than most space heaters and I would hate to see it go.
