• It doesn't pan around. It stays on the position you put it in.

• You can only pan in on something while your zoomed in. Then yes it does pan up down left right, but u must zoom in at least 1 time

• Hi - The VTech RM5754-2HD does not have a pan and tilt feature. You may check the model RM5764-2DH, which does have a panoramic pan and tilt feature. The said feature is capable of moving the baby unit's view on both horizontal and vertical. Thank you, -VTech Support
