• Lorie - Yes, messages recorded on the built in answering machine of the VTech IS8151-4 can be retrieved using the cordless handsets or telephone base. The answering system is shared on the system units. Messages deleted on one of the units will also be deleted on the whole system. Thank you, -VTech Support
