“Does the base unit have it's own speaker? Can it be used as a hands free speakerphone? - - I think the answer is yes but would like someone that actually uses this model to confirm it. And what is the quality of the calls? THANK YOU”

Hi - The VTech IS8151-4 has a speakerphone on the telephone base. You can use it for a hands free conversation. The telephone system also has an Equalizer feature that enables you to change the quality of the audio to best suit your hearing. Thank you, -VTech Support
